So, the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry is having a contest to have someone live there for a month. I've entered! I'll find out next week if this is useless or not, but I've uploaded my application video to youtube.

Take a look at it here!

Please oh please pass this around, because who know, number of views might count in the process of choosing finalists. Help me move in to the museum!

I've made it past $900 (I know the page doesn't reflect it, it's in cash at the moment) but please help me get past $1000 before our first organisational meeting next week!

Please donate here: http://pages.lightthenight.org/md/Annapoli10/ADionne

Don't worry if you personally can't donate, just send the link to someone you think might be able to spare a few dollars for a good cause! The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society helps many many families with services and research!

Hi there!

I'm once again walking in Light the Night, which is the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society's walk for a cure. The Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) funds lifesaving research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment of blood cancers and treatments for other types of cancer, such as chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. These treatments have helped patients live better, longer lives. New targeted therapies that kill cancer cells without harming normal tissue are providing drugs and procedures that are improving quality of life.

Over the past three years, I've helped raise nearly $15,000. This year I'm upping my game and have a personal goal of $10,000! You can help by donating as little as $1.

You can visit my fund-raising page here: http://pages.lightthenight.org/md/Annapoli10/ADionne

Please help me spread the word!

Ok, in the style of jaylake and calendula_witch I'm going to do a Have Some More Information post. We all have medical problems that someone else out there probably has too. We want more information, and the process of getting it isn't always easy because people don't talk about these sorts of things. So I'm going to once more go unto the breach and start talking about my most recent journey in the medical field.

Ok, so everyone who knows me off-line knows I am quite bendy. I've always been this way, and it has massive issues involved therewith. I've had four different doctors for four different sets of joints. I have had re-constructive surgery on both my ankles. I have arthritis in both my knees. My back has always hurt. I have TMJ in my jaw. Those are just the ones that I've had doctors for. Every other joint in my body hurts. I live in constant pain, and don't bother taking pain meds unless it's really bad.

Here we go! Follow me!Collapse )

The next step in this process will be finding a specialist, because that's what I need. Possibly an EDS specialist, possibly just a genetic disorder specialist. I'll be asking my primary care physician what he recommends, but at this point, that's the only thing I'll be looking to him for. I live near both Washington DC and Baltimore, so if you know of anyone who does that sort of thing, let me know.

Ok, so. As everyone who knows my feelings about Steampunk knows, I love colour. I think the more of it the better. The brightest, brilliant-est, spiffing-est colours available. I am in fact coming up with a teal blue, lime green, bright pink concoction. It will be fantabulous.

Anyway, I have been talking to Kass of Reconstructing History (fantastic historical patterns, and yes they have Victorian stuff) and it turns out we BOTH love colour! So she's working on her very own project right now and has taken up my Steampink philosophy! In Steampink, it doesn't have to be pink, just bright.

So go HERE and read her blog about her newest project!

Light The Night

Hi there!

I'm finishing up my drive for Light the Night, which is the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society's walk for a cure. It's tonight!

For the past two years, I've raised over $1000 personally, and helped my team reach their goals. This year I've had to focus on my own health, so I haven't been able to focus on this too much which personally dissapoints me, but I think that my goal of $500 is a good one. I'm half way there and you can help!
